ff_standingteaserLloyd Simcoe has had a lot to deal with since the blackout of every man, woman, child, and even crow on the planet.  His wife was killed during the blackout and he’s had to get to know his estranged son whom also is autistic in the process.  From his point of view, the doctor that saved his son’s life now seems to want nothing to do with him or his son’s care, and to top it all off he has an unknown relationship with a man named Simon (Dominic Monaghan) who claims that they (Lloyd and Himself) were responsible for the blackouts.

I’ll be the first to admit that the revelation, this early into the season, that Simon is claiming responsibility for the blackouts shocked me a bit.  From the few previews we got of Simon before last week’s episode, I was certainly curious about his involvement, and he did seem to be a bit of a shady character, but they have basically told us, straight-away, that Simon is at least one of the parties bearing responsibility.  My opinion…he’s mistaken.  In otherwords, Simon is either wrong or not aware of other forces at play here and thinks himself and Lloyd are the reason for the blackout, but in reality someone or something else was pulling their strings for another purpose.

Hear more from Lloyd Simcoe himself (actor Jack Davenport) in the video below.
